CME's first involvement with cigarette making machinery was to supply customers with spare
parts and size change conversion kits for Mark 8/PA7RO, Mark 9/PA8 and Mark 9/Max 'S' combinations.
New improved manufacturing processes were developed and refined for key items such as Garnitures
and Ecreteur units for Cigarette Making Machines, Drums and Knife Assemblies for Filter
Tip Attachment Machines.
CME services expanded to include the rebuilding and upgrading of Mark9/Max
'S' combinations to a high mechanical and electrical specification. The Cigarette Making
Machine is fitted with a single PLC Control System, while the Max 'S' Filter Tip Attachment
has two PLCs - one for machine control, the other for high speed inspection. A range of
optional equipment is also available to meet the needs of specific product designs and operational
requirements.
